US President-elect Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, celebrated New Year’s Eve at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida. Several videos of the two dancing and singing to the Village People’s “YMCA” during the event are going viral on social media.
Donald Trump Jr, Trump’s eldest son, posted a video on Instagram with the caption, “It’s fun to stay at the YMCA!!!! Happy new year all!” The video showed his father and Melania enjoying the party. Trump, wearing a tuxedo, moved his arms and marched in place, while Melania, dressed in a black gown, swayed and mouthed the lyrics. At one point, she raised her hands and moved them abruptly.
Florida realtor Alex McCoy captured a different angle of the sing-along and dance session and shared the clip on her Instagram Story.
In another video, Trump and Melania are seen sharing a kiss as the clock strikes 12.
Social Media praises Melania’s dance moves
Trump and Melania’s videos have garnered a lot of attention on social media, provoking a wide range of reactions. Many social media users have praised Melania and her dance moves at the party. One X user commented, “I’m sorry. President Trump is in this video? All I see is Melania.” Another remarked, “It’s Melania’s time to shine.” One user noted that Melania “doesn’t do the shimmy, but she does have her own moves.” Another commentator called Melania “elegant and graceful!” However, one user observed that “Melania looks uncomfortable,” adding, “I bet she misses her stripper pole.”
A few comments also urged Trump to “dance at his inauguration,” saying, “It would be hilarious.” One user joked that Trump’s and Melania’s dance “looks more like exercising for seniors.”

Other videos showed Elon Musk, wearing a tuxedo, at the event with his son, X AE A-XII. One video showed Musk’s son on his shoulders, tapping his head to the music during Lara Trump’s performance. Lara Trump sang covers, including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ “I Won’t Back Down.”
Another video showed Trump and Musk with X on Musk’s shoulders on a balcony. Trump was on a phone call while they listened to a remix of Pitbull’s “Feel This Moment.”
In one video, the Tesla CEO and Trump can be seen doing matching steps to the “YMCA” tune during the party.

Trump will be inaugurated as president again on January 20.
