NEW DELHI: Security forces diffused two massive improvised explosive devices (IED) planted by suspected Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur on Thursday.
The joint operation was carried out by the state police and the CRPF’s 229 Battalion in Murdanda village under the Awapalli police station, news agency ANI reported.
As per the report, the IEDs, were made using empty beer bottles to dodge the security forces.
The development comes two days after eight police personnel and a civilian driver were killed in IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist-infested Bastar district.
A day later, security forces on Tuesday defused a 10kg IED planted by the ultras in Sukma district.
