NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli’s struggles against deliveries outside the off-stump have become a glaring issue in the series, further denting the confidence of India’s star batter.
During the SCG Test, Kohli’s lean patch with the bat continued as he fell to another outside-off delivery, this time from Scott Boland.

Kohli managed 17 runs off 69 balls, marking the longest innings of his Test career without hitting a boundary. Boland bowled with precision, consistently targeting the corridor outside off and eventually induced an edge from Kohli.
The catch was a stunner, as Beau Webster dived to his left to complete a brilliant grab, sending Kohli back to the pavilion.
This marked the fourth time Boland has dismissed Kohli in Test cricket, with all four dismissals involving catches by the wicketkeeper or in the slip cordon.
Kohli’s performance in the series has been below par, accumulating just 184 runs in 8 innings at an average of 26.29.
