Viral post: CA makes detailed sheet to split payment among friends to avoid 'chance of error'

NEW DELHI: A Chartered Accountant is always a Chartered Accountants irrespective of the place and this is proven by a man who made a detailed Excel sheet that specifies exactly who paid how much and how much needs to be paid to them later.
A photo of a detailed list of each person’s expenditure during the gathering and subsequent reimbursement requirements posted by an user on X has gone viral.
A user said on X that when she went out with her friends from business school went outside, the CA in the group sent the sheet with the split. The user further added, “looping in the CA here @PranjalGar50143 he would be the one who’s gonna reply.”

The user also posted a screenshot of chat between her and the CA friend where she asked why not opted for splitwise. The CA said that it took him hardly 5 mins, and using splitwise will consume more time, efforts and chances of error.

The post went viral with 721.4k views and 415 comments. One of the user said, “No offense but nowadays CAs’ favourite tool is excel, it’s just show how a simple problem can be solved with full complexity. You could have used split wise or other apps but hey…” Another said, “This is how I want to do it as well, but my friends are too judgemental about it!”
Some also pointed out the mistakes in the sheet, saying, “why Alark didn’t pay for cab? Also can someone explain this? already above amounts are rounded to nearest 1s and then below its again rounded to nearest 10s also total amt and amt paid by Alark is different.”

Another said, “CA made a calculation mistake 💀 Water : Alark: Rs2 Shivangi: Rs 2 Ishan : Rs 2 Yusuf : Rs 2 Murali : Rs2 Pranjal: Rs2 2 × 6 = 12 not 10 ❌”
