BAREILLY: Kheri police resolved the case of an unidentified woman who was found dead in the bushes along Sampoornanagar Road in the Majhgai area of the district on Saturday evening.
A cannula was attached to one of her hands, suggesting she received treatment at a hospital. The woman was identified as a resident of a village in Majhgai. She belonged to a Dalit family.
During the investigation, police found that she was 20 years old and was having an affair with Sarvesh Yadav (26), which resulted in her becoming pregnant. Sarvesh then took her to a private hospital to abort the pregnancy, but the treatment went wrong, and she died.
CO Yadvendra Yadav stated, “With the help of CCTV footage, we apprehended all the accused. A case was registered based on a complaint by the deceased’s brother under the sections of culpable homicide, causing abortion, and the SC/ST Act.”
The investigation uncovered that a quack doctor, Neeraj Chaurasia, from Naugawan, called the woman to his clinic, where her lover, Sarvesh Yadav, was already present. Nurse Sonam Sahni attempted the abortion using improper medications and injections.
When the woman’s condition worsened, the nurse took her to her home with the help of her husband, Vicky Sahni, where they started treatment secretly.
As her condition deteriorated further, she was taken to a private hospital, where the doctor declared her dead.
Thereafter, the accused, instead of informing her family, dumped her. We arrested all the accused and sent them to jail.
