In a brief exchange on social media platform X, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Tesla CEO Elon Musk displayed public affection for each other’s business ventures. Dorsey, using his handle @jack, quoted a post from Tesla’s official account that read “Make things people love,” adding his own sentiment: “i love tesla.” Musk, who purchased Twitter from Dorsey and rebranded it as X, responded with three heart emojis, signaling continued mutual admiration between the two founders.
Tesla vehicles are being attacked across the United states
The exchange comes as Tesla faces an unprecedented wave of vandalism across the United States, with incidents spiking since Musk assumed his role in the Trump administration, heading the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Tesla showrooms, vehicle lots, charging stations, and privately owned cars have been targeted in attacks ranging from Molotov cocktails to bullet holes and arson.
How have been the relationship between Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk
The relationship between Dorsey and Musk has evolved significantly since Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in 2022. Despite initial support for the takeover, Dorsey reportedly had second thoughts, according to Walter Isaacson‘s biography of Musk, which revealed that Musk offered Dorsey a secret deal to buy back his Twitter shares at the original price if needed.
Dorsey had criticised Elon Musk’s leadership at Twitter, saying “it all went south” and that Musk “should have walked away” from the acquisition.
However, in a recent interview with Founders Fund, Dorsey expressed support for Musk’s free speech advocacy on X, calling Twitter’s previous advertising-dependent model “sinful.” Dorsey also criticized Twitter’s former board as “always a problem” and praised taking the company private as “the greatest act.”
As Tesla stock fluctuates and vandalism continues, Musk has claimed the attacks are “organized and paid for” by “left-wing organizations,” though progressive groups like Indivisible have condemned violence while encouraging peaceful protests.
