Nursing college principal ends life by jumping in front of train in Varanasi

VARANASI: A nursing college principal ended her life by jumping in front of a moving train near the Tarna overbridge, Varanasi on Monday evening.
Upon receiving the information, the GRP arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem. The reasons for the suicide are currently unknown.
According to reports, Sushmita Singh, 30, the principal of a nursing college in the Babatpur area, lived with her eight-year-old daughter in the Shivpur area of the city. Her parental home is in Daulatabad in Azamgarh district, and her in-laws live in Chandvak of Jaunpur district. Her husband, Saurabh Singh, works as a chemist in Sikkim.
According to local residents, around 6pm, Sushmita was talking on her mobile phone when she reached the railway tracks. Seeing the train approaching, she suddenly jumped in front of it, sustaining severe injuries. Upon receiving the information, the police took her to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The GRP seized both of Sushmita’s mobile phones and is examining her call details and chats.
The reason for the suicide has not yet been revealed. The police stated that the matter will become clear only after the post-mortem report and mobile data investigation.
