In a crowded digital market, companies may be missing the mark by focusing too heavily on new features and updates. Industry experts suggest that users leave platforms not for a lack of features, but because their needs and preferences are overlooked.
Personalization, they argue, has become the driving force behind successful platforms. “Indian giants illustrate how tailored recommendations improve user experience. By suggesting familiar restaurants and relevant options, these apps cut through the noise of endless choices,” explained AI expert Arbaz Khan. Streaming services use similar tactics, curating content based on regional and individual preferences to keep users engaged, Khan further said.
Scalable technology has made personalization more accessible. “Many platforms now deploy a two-stage recommendation system: lightweight models filter options quickly, while advanced algorithms refine results for better accuracy. These systems are capable of handling thousands of predictions per second, ensuring seamless and relevant user experiences,” Khan said.
While personalization systems can require significant investment, the benefits far outweigh the costs. “Platforms focusing on user-centric recommendations see higher engagement, improved retention, and stronger revenue growth,” added Khan.
