SpiceJet cautions passengers of flight delays due to fog, bad weather across 9 cities

NEW DELHI: Airline operator SpiceJet issued a warning Monday evening for flight delays amid bad weather in multiple cities including Delhi. It urged passengers to keep a check on flight status to avoid inconvenience.
“Due to expected bad weather (poor visibility) in Delhi (DEL), Amritsar (ATQ), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), Gorakhpur (GOP), Varanasi (VNS), Ayodhya (AYJ), Darbhanga (DBR) and Patna (PAT), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com,” it said in a post on X.

SpiceJet had earlier in the morning cautioned for flight delays only in Patna over bad weather.
Bad weather and fog has caused disruptions in multiple places across India. In Delhi, over 100 flights were delayed at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) due to dense fog. However, no flights were diverted or canceled, according to officials.
Around 60 flights were reported to be delayed at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport due to dense fog, which reduced visibility to near zero and required the implementation of low visibility procedures (LVP) from 7 am to 9 am. No flight movements occurred during this period, causing delays to approximately 30 arrivals and 30 departures. Seven flights were diverted to airports in Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Hyderabad, and Nagpur. In addition to Spice Jet, Air India and IndiGo had also issued advisories for the delays.
In another disruption of schedule, flight operations at Srinagar International Airport were delayed after heavy overnight snowfall and resumed early Monday. The first flight arrived from Amritsar after snow clearance operations following snowfall during the weekend.
