Lauren Sanchez, fiancée of Jeff Bezos, faced criticism on social media for what many deemed an “inappropriate outfit” at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Sánchez accompanied Bezos as they entered the US Capitol Rotunda. Commenters on social media questioned her choice of attire, wondering how she appeared without a shirt despite the freezing temperatures in Washington, which had already necessitated moving the event indoors.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez have been together since 2018, with their relationship becoming public in 2019 following Bezos’ divorce. The couple announced their engagement in May 2023.
Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly slammed the look during an episode of her eponymous SiriusXM show, saying, “Have some dignity and some respect for your setting in your circumstances. No one should be talking about your t-ts. Sorry. They should be talking about the inauguration.”
Kelly followed this with a post on X. She wrote, “She has no class. No dignity. No respect.”
“Jeff Bezos future wife Lauren Sanchez is incredibly inappropriately dressed for a state occasion. Someone should have told her that having her white lace bra out on display is not acceptable.”
“Jeff Bezos’s wife Lauren Sanchez clearly mistook the inauguration for a couching cast audition,” wrote another user.
“WTF is Lauren Sanchez wearing at the Presidential inauguration?! Visible lingerie,” another added.
When Lauren Sanchez wore Racy Red Corset dress at White House State dinner
Incidentally, this is not the first time that Lauren Sánchez has faced criticism for her dress choice. Sanchez wore a revealing crimson corset dress to the White House state dinner in April 2024. She and fiancé Jeff Bezos were among the many luminaries invited to the black-tie event honoring Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko.
Sanchez off-the-shoulder gown featured intricate lace detail, corset-like boning and a floor-length skirt. Her dress was said to be most racy look of the dinner, which is typically a very formal, buttoned-up affair.
