The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 had some innovative pitches that focused on problem solving one of them was on Autism. Pitchers Raksheet Jain and Divyansh Mangal bring their brand AIgnosis, which helps in detecting autism and also helps with therapy. The pitchers are from Jaipur, their AI-based ecosystem helps kids to get Autism diagnosis. Their ask is for Rs 50 Lakhs for 4% equity.
The sharks welcome the pitchers and compliment their brand’s name. Anupam asks, ‘Have we stigmatised autism? People nowadays say that autism is a new superpower.’ To which Raksheet replied, ‘We have come here to destigmatise autism. An autistic child can hone a skill so well if the kid aims at it.’ They further give examples of what can happen to an autistic child if not diagnosed. However, Anupam fails to believe.
Varun Dua then shares, “I fully agree with you guys. I have seen both mild and severe autism. The mild one is a socially awkward child which is still possible to normalise with intervention. But in severe, parents don’t accept that their child may have an issue and that keeps delaying the diagnosis. That leads to the child showcasing deep aggression, very awkward behaviour, and throwing things. After that to help the child is very difficult.”
The pitchers then share their family and educational background. They started learning about Autism from Divyansh’s father’s childcare centre. The pitchers then show a demo video. Then explain how their product works. Anupam and Aman start with further questions about how their model will help in getting the autistic child therapy sooner. As they break the price bracket, Varun shares that their vision with the business plan is digressing them from the actual problem while Peyush gets curious to understand how a doctor agrees to get only 140 rupees per patient.
Varun and Peyush then further suggested that their product could be made easily at home. Pitchers then share that they would want to create disruption and would want to make it accessible. Aman then suggests that they should use their knowledge in other factors as well. He then questions the pitchers, ‘Shark Tank pe kya kar rahe ho?’ Raksheet shares, ‘With your funding, we want to expand our network and impact families in the coming 5 years. The problem is not just money, it is to create a brand.’ Aman shares, ‘You are doing a great job, if you solve this at this age then aapko government se awards milne chahiye.’
Vineeta and Anupam opted out of the deal. Varun and Aman came for the deal and the pitchers asked for Rs 50 Lakhs for 4% equity. While Peyush gives two offers, one that the pitchers asked for and another one was Rs 1.4 crores for 10% equity. Aman then makes a final deal with all three coming together at Rs 1cr for 8% equity and they seal the deal.
