Mosques covered ahead of Laat Sahab Holi in UP's Shahjahanpur

NEW DELHI: Security has been tightened in Shahjahanpur for the ‘Laat Sahab’ Holi celebrations on Friday. Over 60 mosques have been covered with yellow tarpaulin to maintain peace.
According to SP Rajesh S, the groundwork commenced a month prior through peace committee consultations to ensure a harmonious celebration.

For maintaining order during Laat Sahab Holi in Shahjahanpur, authorities have positioned 3,500 security personnel.
The protective covering of over 60 mosques aims to safeguard peace during the celebrations, which includes a traditional ritual of pelting a ‘Britisher.’
The vicinity of the Laat Sahib location has received particular focus, with all mosques on either side being secured under protective arrangements.
The administration has implemented drone surveillance and CCTV monitoring for continuous observation to avert any disturbances.
SP Rajesh S confirmed that comprehensive preventive measures are in effect, and the administration stands prepared for the festival.
Security units will be positioned at strategic locations to regulate crowds and facilitate smooth celebrations. Police officials are maintaining liaison with community representatives and local leaders to uphold peace.
The district administration requests public cooperation and responsible participation to ensure peaceful festivities in Shahjahanpur.
