LUCKNOW: Mohammed Arshad and his father Mohammed Badar had meticulously planned the murders of Arshad’s mother and four sisters.
Investigations reveal that the duo had searched the internet for methods to incapacitate the victims and execute the killings without raising alarms.
In fact, neighbours also recounted the years of abuse within the family.
“Arshad would beat his wife with a belt in full view of others when they lived in a smaller house with no high gates. His father also abused the mother. The screams were constant, but no one dared intervene because Arshad would threaten and hurl abuses,” said Samina, a neighbour, to police in her statement.
The police unearthed chilling details from Arshad’s mobile search history. He researched how to kill his mother and sisters without resistance.
“Searches included ways to drug the victims, using sedatives or toxic substances mixed in cold drinks, ensuring they would be unconscious during the murders. Arshad also searched for surgical knives and other tools online, even looking up techniques for strangulation and severing veins,” said a senior officer privy to the probe.
On the day of the crime, the victims were drugged to the point of complete incapacitation, unable to resist. Arshad and Badar then proceeded with the murders, killing them one by one.
Police said they recovered three android mobile phones in the range of Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 from the possession of Arshad.
“The first was his, another of his father, and the third of his eldest sister,” the sources said. Police stated that a forensic analysis of the mobile phones of Arshad, Badar, and Arshad’s eldest sister is being done to uncover additional evidence and understand the full extent of their premeditated acts.
