Savannah James’ friend, April McDaniel, has shed light on the surprising backstory behind McDaniel’s high-profile connection with music icon Adele. Speaking in a recent interview, McDaniel revealed that Adele was initially annoyed by the situation at a gym they were working out. Despite the rocky start, the encounter eventually turned into a memorable moment and the singer and McDaniel became close friends.
April McDaniel reveals how she established a friendship with Adele
Savannah James and her close friend April McDaniel recently appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show in New York City. During the segment, Drew Barrymore asked McDaniel about her bond with singer Adele, who is dating Rich Paul, LeBron James’ agent and CEO of Klutch Sports. McDaniel shared that her friendship with Adele began during a gym session, where they gradually connected. Over time, their relationship turned into a friendship bond.
Explaining the story McDaniel candidly shared the backstory of her high-profile friend, “Working out at the gym, and she was working out.” She added, “I take more of a playful approach to working out, so I like a lot of breaks. So, she was annoyed at my breaks.”
McDaniel was caught off guard by Adele’s directness as she initially hesitated to meet the singer, but over time, they developed a strong connection. “She was like, ‘If you’re not going to take this seriously, why are you here? I was like, ‘Who are you?’” McDaniel recalled.
After months of getting to know each other, the two finally went out to dinner starting their close friendship. McDaniel’s recount shows the unexpected way their bond grew and how their relationship flourished into something special. “And then, after months, we finally, like, connected, and then we went out to dinner and it was all she wrote,” she added.
McDaniel’s close friendship with Adele became even more evident when Adele’s album 30 was released. On the back of the album, there’s a personal note that reads, “For April x,” which was clear sign of their bond. Reportedly, McDaniel played a vital role in Adele’s life during a difficult time helping the Grammy-winning singer get through it.
McDaniel has also been a good friend of Lakers legend LeBron James’ wife Savannah James. Both friends host the Everybody’s Crazy podcast. “Well, we didn’t strategically make it prime time,” McDaniel told Drew Barrymore about their podcast. “When you have real connectivity and friendship, it just feels really organic. We were like, ‘We want to talk to other people, is this crazy?’ And we were like, ‘Maybe we’ll try it,'” she added.
