VARANASI: A mason ended his life by suicide while he was on a video call with his wife in Sarnath area.
Inspector Sarnath Vivek Tripathi said on Sunday that Rakesh Yadav (28) of Bhujari (Khanpur) in Ghazipur district hanged himself at a plot where he worked on Friday night. His wife, Seema Prajapati of Lamahi, and her family members alerted the police. The body was sent for postmortem. A family dispute is suspected to be the cause behind the incident, and further investigation is continuing in this matter.
Initial police investigation revealed that the couple had a love marriage and has two two children. The mason was upset as his wife was adamant about taking her to his parent’s place in Ghazipur, while he was not ready for it. He was talking to his wife on Friday through a video call when he ended his life while his wife repeatedly pleaded to stop.
