Elon Musk’s former pal, philosopher Sam Harris in a podcast with Bill Maher explained why he is no longer a friend with Elon Musk. And exactly the same happened as Elon Musk reacted to a clip of that podcast calling Sam Harris ‘mentally ill’ but also with a clown emoji.
Referring to the viral 2016 pizza gate conspiracy theory according to which Hillary Clinton was running a pedophile ring at a pizza parlor, Sam Harris said, “People who gave us that (the pizza gate conspiracy theory) are in very good stand in with Elon. Elon would talk to them on Twitter spaces, give them the mic and boost them and high-five them.”
“These people would send him a clip of my podcast, maybe this podcast, making it seem like I have said the opposite of what I said in the context. Like they would send him one clip where I seem to be saying I didn’t care about the chaos at the border whereas I have exactly the same view as Elon’s on the border,” Sam Harris said.
Elon does not have time to listen to the whole podcast but he will react to the clip, Harris said adding, “Elon would write Sam Harris is a total moron only listening to that clip. He would then amplify it to the people.”
“I will email him and say, Elon you are being gamed by the right wing trolls who gave us Pizzagate …This is not what I said in context. And he will tell me to go f**k myself.”
“He does not care if he’s defaming someone in public who used to be a friend,” Sam Harris said.
As the clip went viral, many social media users commented that this provided an alarming insight into Elon Musk’s engagement with disinformation.
Earlier, Sam Harris once claimed that the billionaire is in the throes of social media addiction, “snorting ketamine and tweeting at all hours of the day and night”. Musk reacted to those clips and called him “utter idiot”, “subtarded”.
