Bandra Police have filed a 1,000-page chargesheet against Shariful Islam for the January stabbing attack on actor Saif Ali Khan.

NEW DELHI: Bandra Police on Tuesday filed a 1,000-page chargesheet in the Bandra court against accused Shariful Islam in connection with the January stabbing attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
The chargesheet includes key forensic and fingerprint evidence, establishing a direct link between the crime scene, the weapon, and the accused.
“This chargesheet includes several pieces of evidence found by the police against the arrested accused, Shariful Islam. The report from the forensic lab confirms that the knife pieces recovered from the crime scene, Saif Ali Khan’s body, and the accused are parts of the same knife,” Mumbai Police said.
The document also contains the fingerprint report of the accused’s left hand, which police recovered during the course of their investigation.
The incident occurred on January 16 when the accused, identified as Shehzad, allegedly broke into the actor’s Bandra residence in an attempt to rob him. During the confrontation, Saif was stabbed and sustained severe injuries, including damage to his thoracic spine. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he remained under treatment for five days before being discharged on January 21.
Investigators further revealed that the accused had entered India from Bangladesh and stayed at multiple locations in Kolkata before arriving in Mumbai.
