“We are absolutely delighted to have sold out the Final for the third year in a row,” League Commissioner, Graeme Smith, said. “There is nothing better than a packed Wanderers stadium, it will no doubt be an unforgettable experience for all.
Crowd at the ‘Bullring’ during the final will also be entertained with a mid-game performance by Booshle G, who will perform his popular summer track ‘Take me Home’.
“It has been rewarding to see how SA20 has become a highlight of the South African sporting calendar, and we’re proud to have such a loyal and passionate fan base. With the tickets for the Final sold out, I would encourage fans to purchase their Playoffs tickets where the four top teams will be fighting for the chance to be at the Wanderers on the 8th February,” Smith concluded.
Spectators can still purchase tickets for the playoff matches, though they are selling quickly. Children will have the opportunity to meet their favourite players and participate in pre-match activities on the field during the three playoff matches.
As far as the state of competition and points table currently, all six teams are still in the fray to secure a spot in the top four.
Paarl Royals currently occupy the summit following their impressive early-season performance, while MI Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape or Joburg Super Kings could potentially claim the top spot after this weekend’s fixtures.
The first qualifier is scheduled at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on February 4, featuring the top two sides, with the victor securing direct entry to the final.
The third and fourth-placed teams will compete in the Eliminator at Centurion on February 5, while Qualifier 2 at Centurion on February 6 will see the losing team of Qualifier 1 taking on the winners of the Eliminator.
During Qualifier 2, the spectators will enjoy an additional live performance by Kurt Darren, known for the current hit ‘Hop Hop Spinnekop’.
The Wanderers will host the Final on February 8, featuring the winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2.
