Prasanna Sankar, the desi co-founder of HR software company Rippling has alleged that his wife cheated on him and filed false cases of rape and child kidnapping against him. As per his LinkedIn profile, Sankar founded the $10 billion company based in San Francisco in 2016 and served as its CTO till 2020. After that, in 2023, he founded a social media platform named 0xPPL for crypto enthusiasts and has since been associated with the same. Sankar, who is currently in India to file for divorce, shared these details on social media platform X (earlier Twitter). In his X post, he said that he is on the run with his son as the Chennai Police are trying to arrest him following his wife’s complaints. Sankar also shared screenshots of messages allegedly exchanged between his wife, Dhivya Sashidhar, and her lover, Anoop Kuttysankaran.
What the tech co-founder alleged against his wife
Sankar shared a thread of tweets where he revealed his entire story. After giving a brief introduction about himself and his family, Sankar wrote: “My name is Prasanna, who previously founded Rippling (worth $10B); I’m going through a divorce. I’m now on the run from the Chennai police hiding outside of Tamil Nadu. This is my story.
Born in Chennai, lived here for 20 years. I studied in NIT Trichy where I met my wife. I was ranked as #1 coder in India. I went to the US to start technology companies.
Me and my wife, Dhivya, were married for 10 years and we have a 9-year-old son. Recently our marriage broke down after I discovered she was having an affair, with a person named Anoop for 6+ mos.”
In the thread, he also shared screenshots of the hotel booking as well as the conversation between his wife and her alleged lover. While sharing them, Sankar wrote: “Anoop’s wife sent me the message my wife had sent Anoop and hotel bookings she made for him.”
Sankar further described his situation and shared more allegations about his wife in the comment section of the original post. He wrote: “After that we were negotiating the terms of how many million dollars I need to pay her, as a part of our divorce. She was unhappy and decided to instead filed a fake police complaint against me saying I hit her.
Later, she made further fake complaints that I raped her (1 mo after the alleged rape). That i circulated her nude videos. etc. Singapore police have investigated these allegations, found them baseless and have cleared me from all charges.
I filed for a divorce in India. She filed for a divorce in the US, to try and make more money from the divorce.
She then proceeded to abduct my child to the US to help with her divorce case. I filed an international child abduction case in the US. And the judge ruled in favor of me and asked to return the child.
I booked her and my son flight tickets to return them to Chennai. As a part of the MOU we agreed to 50/50 custody of our son. Which happened for sometime.
As a part of the MOU, she had to deposit the child’s passport in a common locker since I was worried she could fly away. She refused to follow it. She started claiming that the MOU is not valid and she wants more and will go to the US again to file a divorce.
Concerned, I moved to the courts, saying I’ll return my child only after the passport is deposited in the locker. She did not attend the courts. Instead she showed up to my hotel at 10 PM in the night and calls my son to the lobby for 10m luring him which I stopped.
She then chose to call the police and filed a kidnapping complaint against me. The police knocked on the door in the middle of the night before which I was able to escape with my son.
I immediately send the police my side of the story with my lawyers and explain the child was voluntarily handed over. And the child is happy with me and show him on a video call. And that the matters are before the court. Hence cops shouldn’t interfere.
The cops were still trying to locate me to my surprise. They hit my mom’s house and asked for me. They kept pestering my friend, Gokul, who helped pick up the child saying he’d be made the main accused if he doesn’t locate me.
Afraid, Gokul left to Bangalore and told the cops it’s between husband and wife and they should leave him alone. Instead they raided him in Bangalore in mufty clothes, with no warrant or papers or intimation to local Bangalore police, picked him up to Chennai.
Last 3 days he is in custody without any FIR. They are telling him if I don’t surrender he’d be harassed. They have not produced him in-front of a magistrate. Instead every morning they call him to the station and make him sit till night and let him go.
More recently, the threat is, if I do not remove my twitter posts – he’d be in trouble. They have told him to tell him, they will find me and make me face the consequence of going to the media.
Police and my wife will be conducting a joint press meet soon to accuse me of many crimes. They’ve also asked my friend Gokul to sign saying my social media tweets are false.
On Monday, I will be filing a “don’t harass” for me in courts and taking matters through the court system. Meanwhile, my entire family, is out of the state, hiding from the TN cops.”
Apart from this, he also shared some pictures of him and his son and wrote: “Son is safe and happy with me,” and also shared the US judgement against his wife’s child abduction.
“My cell phone location, car, UPI, IP everything is being tracked by the cops. Illegally without any FIR. They went and seized the phone of a caretaker I paid 200 Rs to via UPI and hit the Airbnb where I was staying. Luckily got out before. To all supporters – to be clear. I’m feeling the most alive right now and it’s great. I built an empire from nothing. I can handle this even if a state is on the other side. I’m a survivor not a victim,” he further added.
