It was Jadeja’s first Ranji Trophy appearance since 2023, coming after a diktat by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India regarding players’ availability for their respective state teams when not on national duty.
The BCCI sprung into action with fresh directives on the do’s and don’ts for Team India players, following the team’s 1-3 defeat in the five-match Test series for the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
