The mass entertainer ‘Pushpa 2’ took over the box office like a wildfire. Headlined by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie has completed a month at the box office, and it has been keeping the cash registers ringing. On Day 31, i.e. on its fifth Saturday, the movie collected Rs.5.5 crore in India as compared to day 30 business which was Rs 3.75 crore, according to Sacnilk. Thus, on day 31, the film was able to get a hike of more than 40 percent in its collection and it appears that the weekend is going to be fruitful for the action drama.
Again the collection from Hindi has been the maximum – Rs. 4.35 cr, followed by business from Telugu – Rs 1 cr. Further, in Tamil, the movie made Rs 0.14 crore, while in Kannada it minted Rs 0.01 crore. This led to the total collection of the movie in India to Rs. 1199 core, which includes a business of Rs.785 cr from Hindi, Rs 333.51 cr from Telegu, Rs 57.98 cr from Tamil, 7.71 cr from Kannada and Rs. 14.15 cr from Malayalam.
‘Pushpa 2’ continues to shine despite its competition from the highly awaited ‘Baby John’ which was released on Christmas. The Varun Dhawan starrer is a remake of a south movie – ‘Theri,’ which has failed the box office test. On Saturday where ‘Pushpa 2’ minted Rs. 5.5 cr, Atlee’s ‘Baby Jonh’s collection couldn’t even go up to a crore. Since its release, the movie is struggling to even reach the Rs 40 crore mark.
