Pope Francis on Thursday fell and hurt his arm just weeks after he sustained a bad bruise on his chin from an apparent fall, reported news agency AFP citing the Vatican.
Francis didn’t break his arm but a sling was put on as a precaution, the Vatican spokesman said in a statement
“This morning, due to a fall at the Santa Marta house, Pope Francis suffered a contusion on his right forearm, without fractures.

The arm was immobilised as a precautionary measure,” the Vatican said.
On December 7, the pope whacked his chin on his nightstand in an apparent fall that resulted in a bad bruise.
The 88-year-old pope has battled health problems and often has to use a wheelchair.
Discussions about Pope Francis’ wellbeing remain prevalent amongst Vatican observers, particularly since Pope Benedict XVI’s unprecedented departure from papal duties in 2013, breaking six centuries of tradition.
Benedict’s associates indicated that a fall during his Mexican visit in 2012 prompted his resignation, as he felt unable to maintain the extensive travel requirements of his role.
Despite Benedict’s precedent, Francis has expressed his intention to continue serving. In his recently published autobiography “Hope”, he confirmed that even during his significant intestinal operation, resignation was not an option he contemplated.
