'Phir Kejriwal nu chun lo': AAP releases new campaign song on Lohri ahead of Delhi polls

NEW DELHI: AAP on Monday launched a new campaign song ahead of Delhi polls celebrating Lohri, titled “Phir Kejriwal nu chun lo” (“Choose Kejriwal Again”).
The 1.33-minute song highlights the accomplishments of the Kejriwal-led government in sectors like health and education, alongside showcasing reduced electricity bills and improved water supply in the capital.
Released on Monday, the campaign song aims to consolidate support for AAP as it seeks a third consecutive term.

This comes after the BJP intensified its campaign by releasing two songs targeting AAP. The BJP launched the tracks “Sheesh Mahal apda failane walon ka adda” (“The palace of glass, the hub of disaster”) and “Bahane nahi badlav chahiye, Delhi mein BJP sarkar chahiye” (“No excuses, we want change; delhi needs a BJP government”). The first song criticises alleged extravagant expenditures on the construction of the chief minister’s residence at 6 Flagstaff Road, while the second, sung by three-time North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, focuses on BJP’s vision for transformation in Delhi.
Earlier, AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the party’s election anthem, “Fir Layenge Kejriwal” which highlights the party’s milestones, such as its flagship welfare schemes and its determination to navigate challenges posed by the ongoing tussle between the Delhi government and the lieutenant governor. The lyrics in the song are as follows: “Unke roke ye nahi rukta, chalta rehta apni chaal. Saamne wale shor machaye, karle chahe jitna bawal” (“He doesn’t stop when they try to halt him. He keeps moving forward, undeterred by the noise and chaos”).
With Delhi’s assembly elections slated for February 5 and results expected on February 8, the electoral battle is heating up. AAP, which secured 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 elections, is striving to maintain its dominance, while the BJP seeks to gain a foothold in the capital by promoting its vision of change and targeting AAP’s governance record.
