SURAT/AHMEDABAD: Faisal Patel, son of late Congress stalwart Ahmed Patel who was a close confidante of Sonia Gandhi, announced on Thursday through an emotional post on X that he had decided to stop working for the party, hinting that he had been overlooked for years.
Calling it a difficult decision, the 44-year-old noted that his father had dedicated his entire life working for the country, the party and the Gandhi family. “I tried following (in) his footsteps, but was denied every step of the way.”
Faisal affirmed his loyalty to the party, calling it his family and thanked Congress workers and supporters. He has reportedly been upset with Congress since the 2024 LS elections.
