'Now the work begins': Special Israeli guests attend Donald Trump's inaugural parade in Washington

At the inaugural parade in Washington, US President Donald Trump welcomed family members of the hostages recently released by Hamas.
The families approached the stage and exchanged handshakes with Trump.
“We won, but now the work begins,” Trump addressed the audience while family members, adorned in yellow scarves, entered.
Trump expressed gratitude to Steve Witkoff, his Middle East special envoy, for facilitating the hostages’ return. Witkoff commenced the post-parade speeches by acknowledging three Israeli hostages‘ return on Sunday.
“To the former hostages with us; welcome home… Not a good situation. The three young ladies [came] home yesterday,” Trump said.

Donald Trump, who persisted through impeachments, criminal indictments and two assassination attempts to secure another presidential term, was inaugurated on Monday as the 47th US president. This marked the beginning of Republican unified control in Washington, with aims to transform national institutions.
Due to severe cold conditions, Trump’s inauguration ceremony was held indoors, commencing at noon ET. The day’s events began with Trump attending a service at St John’s Episcopal Church.
