MEERUT: The additional district court in Meerut sentenced a 40-year-old man and his friend to life imprisonment for murdering a 22-year-old man over an affair with his married daughter.
Former SSP Meerut, Rohit Singh Sajwan, who was handling the case, said, “Deepak Tyagi, a resident of Khajuri village in the Parikshitgarh region, was in an illicit relationship with 42-year-old Fameed Ahmeed’s married daughter and frequently visited their home. Upon discovering the affair, Fameed conspired with his friend, Mohd Asif (40), to kill Tyagi.”
He added, “On Sep 26, 2022, Fameed invited Tyagi for drinks. Once inebriated, they took him to a nearby forest, beheaded him with a sword. His body was recovered two days later and his head was found 5km away from the spot. The murder weapon was also recovered. Both accused were arrested on Oct 3, 2022.”
Following a complaint by the victim’s father, Dhirendra Tyagi, an FIR was registered under IPC section 302 (murder) at Parikshitgarh police station.
SSP Meerut Dr Vipin Tada said, “On Tuesday, the additional district judge Nusrat Khan found them guilty under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy). Each convict was fined Rs 10,000. Ahmed’s wife Farmeena was acquitted due to lack of evidence.”
