MUMBAI: One person died, while another was injured in a fire that erupted at Skypan, a high-rise building in Andheri West, around 10pm on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Rahul Mishra, 75. Mishra was taken to Kolikaben Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, another injured in the incident is Raunak Mishra, 38, whose health condition is awaited.
Multiple fire engines were sent to the scene.
Locals said that the entire road leading to the high-rise was blocked. Electricity supply was switched off as soon as residents learnt of the blaze.
Shards of metal and glass kept falling to the ground from the flat where the firemen were conducting cooling operations around 11:30 p.m.
Residents of neighbouring buildings alerted them of the rising flames, said resident Vikas Bhagat.
