MEERUT: Seeing his wife with her lover in a car, a security guard confronted them but the other man tried to run over him. Luckily, the guard managed to cling onto the car’s bonnet, with his wife’s lover driving at a speed of 80-90 kmph for nearly a kilometre on Moradabad-Agra state highway, before another vehicle intercepted the car and forced it to stop.

The security guard jumped down, opened the car door and dragged his wife’s lover out. A commotion ensued for about 30 minutes in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam.
The security guard later filed a complaint against the car driver at Katghar police station. The accused, Nazrul Hasan, 32, was inside a car with Noor Afsha, 29, wife of Mohd Samir, 31.
A video of the car going at around 80-90 kmph with Samir clinging to the bonnet was widely circulated on social media.
Samir is a resident of Katghar and works as a security guard. In his police complaint, Samir alleged that his wife, a teacher, was having an affair with Hasan, a taxi driver from Bilari. “On Wednesday evening, I saw my wife in a car with Hasan near the regional transport office. When I confronted them, Hasan tried to speed away. As I was in front of the car and tried to stop them, I got stuck on the bonnet,” Samir said.
Moradabad superintendent of police (city) Ranvijay Singh told TOI, “Afsha and Hasan were in a relationship before she got married to Samir nine years ago. After her marriage, differences cropped up between her and Samir and they were living separately for the past seven years.”
An FIR against Hasan was registered under BNS sections 281 (rash driving on a public way), 125 (endangering a person’s safety through negligent action), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
