WeWork’s co-working space in Gurgaon is facing criticism after a potential customer complained about the attitude of the company’s sales representative. Alok Jain, founder of WeekendInvesting and fo IITian criticised the facility’s high-handed sales tactics on social media. Jain took to social media platform X to express his dissatisfaction with the experience. In a post, he said that he felt judged by the excessive questioning from the salesperson at the facility. The questions reportedly included inquiries about his current office location, workforce size, and his position within the company.

In the X post, Jain wrote: “I was inquiring for some additional office space at WeWork Golf course road and the sales guy was just like the typical Mercedes or a LandRover showroom attitude… Hazaar questions to judge you. where is your current office, how large is your team, are you moving your office ..our prices are XX per seat.. are you sure .. are you the decision maker what is your position etc etc. I dont know what happens to brands…as soon as they grow big, customer courtesy become meaningless for them!!”

Replying to Jain’s complain, WeWork India wrote: “Hi Alok, We’re sorry to know about your experience. Your feedback is important to us, and we’ve shared it with our team for immediate attention. We’re committed to improving and ensuring a better experience for you.”
How users reacted to the post
The original post has received over 90,000 views and several comments. One user questioned the training of WeWork sales representative and wrote: “In sales process there are few opty qualifications checklist and sales folks need to ask those questions to help customer in better way and use their time effectively. What matter is tone and approach of individual sales folks …..some are not well trained to handle large accounts.”
Another user voiced concerns about facing a similar attitude from WeWork sales people and said: “Completely echo your thought. I use to regular user of their meeting room, but in last few years, their sales folks has become too much arrogant.”
