Melania Trump said her first stint as the First Lady did not see much acceptance from the people as they probably did not know her as they know now. In an interview with Fox News, Melania explained her preparation for her return to the White House for the second time — though she made it clear that she would divide her time between White House, New York and Florida — as required. Melania said she had already chosen the furniture that she would place in the White House as on January 20 the transition team has only five hours to get the Bidens out and place the Trumps in.
“I just feel that people didn’t accept me maybe, they didn’t understand me the way maybe they do now. And I didn’t have much support. Maybe some people see me as just a wife of the President, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent, I have my own thoughts, I have my own ‘yes’ and ‘no’,” Melania said.
“The first time was challenging, we didn’t have much of the information. The information was upheld for us, from the previous administration.
“But this time I have everything, I have the plans… I have already packed, I already selected the furniture that needs to go in, so it’s a very different transition.”
On her upcoming Amazon documentary, Melania said the success of her book encouraged her to talk more about herself as she understands that her fans want to know more about her life. The documentary shooting is going on and it will be on her day-to-day life.
“My first priority is to be a mum, to be a First Lady, to be a wife… once we are in on January 20 you serve the country,” she said.
“I don’t want to hire too many people on my team and spend too much taxpayer money,” she said. “I want to make sure that every position, they are talented, they have merit, they know what they are doing, and that they are a team player.”
