Donald Trump’s inauguration must have been a day of fear for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, royal commentator Tom Bower said adding that Trump earlier said that he would not protect Harry in his presidency. Donald Trump has a clear affinity for the royal family and he thinks Harry betrayed the family leaving the royal duties.
Senior members of the royal family, The Times of London reported, are being lined up for a US visit which may take place in 2026. “He had a great relationship with the late Queen, recently met Prince William and has spoken highly of King Charles. A royal tour to the US would help reinforce the ‘special relationship’,” the report said quoting a senior UK government source.
“Playing up to his pro-monarchist tendencies is one of a number of important ways we can exert our soft power. You saw that during his first administration and can expect to see it again,” a second source told the outlet.
King Charles and Queen Camilla may receive an invitation to Washington DC next year to attend the 250th anniversary of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.
King Charles sent a personal message congratulating Trump on his inauguration and reflected on the “enduring special relationship between the UK and US.” He sent a handwritten letter to Trump as Trump was sworn into office for the second time.
Will Prince Harry be deported?
The possibility that Prince Harry may be deported back to the UK because he probably lied to his visa application about taking drugs surfaced several times in the past. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think-tank, wanted Prince Harry’s visa documents to be published to see whether he lied about drugs on the forms — or whether he admitted about taking drugs and still was granted a visa. Harry won the case as a US judge ruled that his visa application should not be made public.
“Harry must be worried because Trump warned that the prince should not receive ‘special privileges’. Harry admitted taking Class A drugs in Spare. Until now, Harry was protected by the Biden administration which prevented a US court from releasing Harry’s 2020 visa application,” Bower said.
Meghan Markle has no fear of deportation but in 2016, Meghan called Donald Trump misogynistic in an interview.
