US President’s Mar-a-Lago estate’s security has been breached once again as a man was arrested for trespassing the estate, just two days after Donald Trump was sworn in.
The Palm Beach Police Department announced that probable cause exists to book Bijan T. Arceo, 32 for unlawfully entering Mar-a-Lago estate.
Mar-a-Lago, situated at 1100 South Ocean Avenue, received federal protection status in July 2024 during Trump’s presidential campaign. The United States Secret Service established a security zone under Title 1752, with clear signage “No Trespassing” and active security measures, Fox News reported.
Following Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president on January 20, an incident occurred on January 22 at approximately 6:05 pm (local time) Palm Beach officers arrived at Mar-a-Lago to support the Secret Service after they detained a male intruder.
Secret Service agents stated they observed Arceo climb over the wall just south of a closed gate that bears a “No Trespassing” sign. Police said that based on the information collected, there was probable cause to arrest and charge Arceo with one count of occupied trespass.
The Secret Service confirmed that whilst Arceo breached the outer security, he did not enter the designated sweep area. He lacked authorisation to enter the protected property, which displays multiple warning signs and maintains closed gates during non-operational hours.
“While the incident had no impact on our protective operations, we take these matters extremely seriously,” the agency said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “This arrest is being handled at the local level and we remain thankful to the Town of Palm Beach Police Department for their quick response and partnership.”
Arceo is being held in the Palm Beach County jail on a $20,000 bond, according to jail records.
This is not the first time, earlier in July, Zijie Li was arrested for trespassing at Mar-a-Lago. Li, a California resident, tried to gain access to the club multiple times over several months, authorities said.
