A new bodycam footage has now revealed how Ohio teen Mackenzie Shirilla who intentionally killed her boyfriend and his friend by slamming the car into a wall fussed about her bracelet when police arrested her. The horrific incident took place in 2022 but the bodycam video has been released now in which a cop is seen walking up to a police SUV to take out the then 17-year-old Shirilla.
“Hi Mackenzie, step out for me?” the officer asked as seen in the video. “I’m the one who’s been investigating the crash, you’re under arrest for aggravated murder, times two.”
“Nobody’s going to ask you any questions, nobody’s going to bother you.”
With handcuffs and tears in her eyes, Shirilla said, “Could you please be careful talking this one off so that it doesn’t break the bracelet, please?”
“You got it,” the officer responded as he manipulated the cuffs, then refastened them. “I’m not going to tighten these, OK? I don’t want to hurt you.”
Later, Shirilla was convicted of four counts of murder for killing boyfriend Dominic Russo and his friend Davion Flanagan in an intentional car crash and was sentenced to two concurrent 15-year imprisonments.
Judge called Shirilla ‘hell on wheels’
Shirilla drove her Toyota Camry to 100 mph intentionally after her months-long relationship ended with Russo. Russo and Flanagan were pronounced dead at the scene, while Shirilla was unconscious and had to be extracted from the mangled car.
Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Nancy Margaret Russo called Shirilla “literal hell on wheels” when she announced the bench trial’s verdict. “This was not reckless driving. This was murder,” Russo told the court. “She had a mission, and she executed it with precision … The decision was death.”
All three of them smoked marijuana, Shirilla has THC in her system over the legal limit but the prosecution decided not to pursue charges of driving under the influence. Shirilla didn’t testify during the bench trial. But she did read a statement in which she apologized to the heartbroken families of the dead men.
