Liam Payne death: Second accused in drugs case surrenders

In the Liam Payne case, another men accused of supplying drugs to British singer, who plunged to his death from a third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires last year, has surrendered himself in, Argentine police said Tuesday.
David Ezequiel Pereyra, aged 21, second suspect in the case involving supplying drugs to Payne, worked at the Casa Sur Hotel, the establishment where the former One Direction member’s tragic incident occurred last October. This follows the earlier arrest of Braian Paiz, 24, a hotel waiter who is also accused of providing drugs to Payne.
Liam Payne (31) former member of the pop band One Direction, passed away on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur hotel in Argentina.
The investigation has additionally implicated three other individuals on manslaughter charges, Payne’s Argentine representative, the hotel manager, and the reception head.
According to prosecutors’ findings, Payne had consumed a combination of cocaine, alcohol, and prescription antidepressants before the fatal balcony fall. The singer had previously acknowledged his struggles with substance dependency and the challenges of early stardom.
His passing triggered widespread mourning, with thousands of fans and fellow musicians gathering worldwide to remember him. His former group, One Direction, had been amongst the world’s most successful touring acts in the 2010s before their indefinite break in 2016.
Following the band’s hiatus, Payne launched a solo career that achieved initial success but subsequently declined.
