Manipur’s 10 Kuki MLAs, including seven from BJP, expressed optimism Sunday that Centre will establish a comprehensive political roadmap for peace and justice in the strife-torn state through a negotiated settlement. They welcomed Centre’s decision to place the assembly under suspended animation following the resignation of N Biren Singh midway through his second term as CM. President’s rule was imposed last Wednesday, but the assembly has not been dissolved. While Meitei groups have expressed displeasure over President’s rule, Kuki-Zo organisations advocating for a separate administration called Union govt’s decision a “ray of hope”.
