Karun Nair's phenomenal run in Vijay Hazare Trophy continues, now averages a jaw-dropping 752!

NEW DELHI: Going through a purple patch, Vidarbha captain Karun Nair on Thursday smoked a dazzling 44-ball 88 not out in the Vijay Hazare Trophy second semi-final to power his side to 380 for 3 against Maharashtra in Vadodara.
Nair, who came in at No.3, took the Maharashtra bowlers for a ride, smacking 9 fours and 5 sixes in his breathtaking knock that came at a strike rate of 200.

The 88-run knock from Nair took his overall run tally to 752 in 7 outings in the tournament.

Nair so far has notched up scores of 112*(108), 44*(52), 163*(107), 111*(103), 112(101), 122*(82) and 88*(44) in the 7 Vijay Hazare matches.
Earlier, Nair slammed a fifth ton against Rajasthan to take Vidarbha into the semis.
Nair, who has been in red-hot form, slammed his fourth successive ton, fifth in total in the last game.
The 33-year-old is now on par with former Karnataka teammate Devdutt Padikkal, former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara and ex-South African batter Alviro Petersen as batters with four successive List A hundreds.

In the semi-final against Maharashtra, openers Dhruv Shorey and Yash Rathod also notched up respective centuries while Jitesh Sharma hit a quickfire fifty to take Vidarbha to a massive total.
While Shorey scored 114, Rathod hit 116. Jitesh fell in the penultimate over after making a sizzling 33-ball 51.
The winner of Vidarbha vs Maharashtra game will meet Karnataka in the final on Saturday.
