Biden in a recent exit interview with USA Today was asked whether he thinks he would have defeated Donald Trump. “I think yes,” he said. “I really thought I had the best chance of beating him. But I also wasn’t looking to be president when I was 85 years old, 86 years old. And so I did talk about passing the baton,” Biden said.
“But I don’t know. Who the hell knows? So far, so good. But who knows what I’m going to be when I’m 86 years old?”
After his first debate against Donald Trump which was called disastrous, Dem veterans turned the pressure on him to step aside. Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama were known to have pulled the strings forcing Biden to opt out of the presidential race endorsing Kamala Harris. That stepping aside was never easy for Joe Biden and though he endorsed Kamala Harris saying that he believed she could defeat Donald Trump, their relationship became frosty. On several occasions during the campaigning, Joe Biden appeared to have stolen the show from Kamala Harris while Harris too found it difficult to navigate around his controversial remarks like ‘garbage’.
But despite all this, Kamala Harris never spoke against Joe Biden and did not blame him for the election loss.
Joe Biden and Jill Biden did not attend Kamala Harris’s conceding speech, they appear distant from Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoffe. Jill Biden appears stone-cold in the presence of Kamala Harris triggering speculations over their intense hatred.
The Wall Street Journal report said this exit statement by Biden that he thinks he could have defeated Trump upset Kamala Harris who thinks that this statement demonstrates “one-sided loyalty”.
