The video, which she posted on TikTok and YouTube, garnered a staggering 27 million combined views in less than 24 hours, showcasing a unique and personal glimpse into the day’s events.
The 14-minute YouTube video begins with Kai getting ready for the day with the help of a hair and makeup team. Dressed for the occasion, she joined her family for a church service before travelling by car to the US Capitol, where President Donald Trump was sworn in for his second term.
In candid moments, Kai shared snippets of humour and relatability. She filmed herself snacking on Red Bull and cookies inside the Capitol while joking with her father, Donald Trump Jr, ahead of the ceremony. Although she was not permitted to film the inauguration itself, Kai included key clips to offer her audience a feel of the momentous occasion.
As the day transitioned into evening, Kai prepared for the Liberty Inauguration Ball in a silver sequined Sherri Hill gown. “My favourite part of this dress is the corset part because it just makes it look really flattering,” she said, twirling for the camera. “I also love all the diamonds and silver stuff.
