KANPUR: Two men allegedly gang-raped a woman in a moving auto in the Maharajpur area of the district on the pretext of offering her a job. After escaping from them the victim reached the police station and narrated her ordeal to the police who registered a report under charges of gang rape and other sections and arrested the accused.
The woman, aged 26, who resides in the Kotwali area of Unnao, lost her parents. A relative of hers is married in the Chhatmara village in the Maharajpur area, which led to her frequent visits there. On Wednesday, Suraj Kushwaha and his friend Deepak Kushwaha from Chhatmara village lured her with the promise of a job and called her to the village.
They then took her in an auto under the guise of securing employment for her. Later, they promised to drop her at her home in Unnao but instead took her with them. Between Gangaganj and Subhauli, both men raped the woman. After escaping from Suraj and Deepak, the woman reached the Maharajpur police station and informed the police about the incident.
The station in-charge said that based on the victim’s complaint, a report was filed against the two men for gang rape and other charges, and they were arrested on Thursday. “The victim has been sent to the hospital for a medical examination,” he added.
