Jemimah Rodrigues, the Indian middle-order batter, has entered the top-20 of the ICC Women’s ODI rankings at 19th position, climbing three spots thanks to her maiden international century.
The 24-year-old ended a seven-year wait by scoring 102 runs in the second women’s ODI against Ireland in Rajkot, powering India to their highest ever total of 370.
India won the match by 116 runs, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Jemimah now has 563 ranking points, placing her ahead of New Zealand’s Suzie Bates in the top-20.
Smriti Mandhana, who is leading the Indian side against Ireland in the absence of an injured Harmanpreet Kaur, maintained her position at third place with 723 ranking points.
She is behind Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu (733) and South African star batter Laura Wolvaardt, who retained her top spot with a career-high points tally of 773.
In the latest update, Australia skipper Alyssa Healy made a significant move, climbing to fifth place with 678 points following her 70 in their win over England in the women’s Ashes series-opener.
The top three ODI bowlers were all involved in the ongoing Ashes series, with England’s Sophie Ecclestone (779) holding on to the top spot. The 25-year-old claimed six wickets across the first two One-Day matches in Australia.
