Infosys has revealed its plans to recruit experienced technology professionals through a lateral hiring initiative. According to a report by Economic Times, the company is looking to fill multiple vacant positions across diverse skill sets, signaling its commitment to addressing talent needs for ongoing and new projects.
Infosys hiring: In-demand skills and experience requirements
As per the report, Infosys is seeking professionals with expertise in cloud computing, cybersecurity, Java, Python, .NET, Android/iOS development, and automation testing, among others. Candidates are required to have at least two years of experience, ensuring that the hires bring in-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise to the company.
Candidates who have appeared in Infosys’s selection process within the last nine months, however, are not eligible for this hiring drive.
The Bengaluru-based software giant has initiated an internal communication allowing applicants to choose their interview locations and potential work cities. Unlike the walk-in recruitment drives held last year at development centers in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, this recruitment process is designed to accommodate lateral hires on a broader scale.
This hiring drive follows the company’s recent issuance of 600 placement offer letters to engineering graduates from colleges in and around Dharwad district. The initiative aligns with Infosys’s strategy to ramp up operations at its Hubballi development center, which currently employs over 900 professionals and 100 support staff.
Addressing attrition and expansion needs
The report also adds that the lateral hiring program is part of Infosys’s annual recruitment exercise aimed at filling positions caused by attrition and supporting expansion for new and ongoing projects, including smaller initiatives that require skilled manpower.
Infosys, which has approximately 323,000 employees, had earlier announced plans to hire 20,000 freshers in the upcoming fiscal year. However, the company has yet to disclose the exact split between freshers and lateral hires.
