The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced its Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024 on Friday, which features India’s two star performers — opening batter Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma.
Mandhana, 28, topped the women’s ODI run charts in 2024, amassing 747 runs across 13 matches. Her outstanding performance has also placed her as a contender for the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024.
Deepti, on the other hand, demonstrated exceptional all-round capabilities, accumulating 186 runs while claiming 24 wickets across 13 matches.
Besides the two Indian players, the squad comprises three players from England, two Australians, two South Africans and one from Sri Lanka and the West Indies.

Mandhana smashed consecutive centuries in the first two ODIs of the series against South Africa. Despite falling short of a third straight century, her score of 90 and an impressive aggregate of 343 runs secured her the Player-of-the-Series award.
In October, against New Zealand, Mandhana struggled in the first two ODIs but concluded strongly with an outstanding century in the last match. This achievement established her as India’s leading century-scorer in women’s ODIs.
On the tour of Australia, she finished impressively with a hundred in the match at the WACA in Perth.
Deepti’s 2024 commenced with a resilient performance against Australia in a single ODI, remaining not out at 25 runs and securing one wicket.
During the June series in Bengaluru against South Africa, she exhibited superior bowling skills, securing two wickets in each of the three matches. She contributed significantly with the bat in the first match, scoring 37 runs in her sole batting opportunity.
The October ODI series against New Zealand proved particularly successful for Deepti. She earned the Player-of-the-Match award in the first game with her 41 runs and bowling figures of 1 for 41. She maintained her form in the second match with a spell of 2 for 30 despite the team’s loss, and concluded the series brilliantly in the final ODI, leading India to victory with bowling figures of 3 for 39.
