NEW DELHI: India Women set a new benchmark in one-day international cricket on Wednesday by recording their highest-ever total in the format. Powered by centuries from Pratika Rawal and skipper Smriti Mandhana, India crossed the 370-run mark in the 42nd over of the third ODI against Ireland in Rajkot, rewriting their previous record.
India posted a mammoth 435/5 in their allotted 50 overs, surpassing all previous team totals by both Indian men’s and women’s teams in ODIs.
This monumental feat overshadowed the Indian men’s highest score of 418/5, achieved against the West Indies in Indore in 2011.
Other notable entries on the list include 414/7 against Sri Lanka in Rajkot (2009), 413/5 against Bermuda in the 2007 World Cup, and 410/4 against the Netherlands in Bengaluru (2023). The Rajkot innings marked a defining moment, further showcasing the rising dominance of India Women in international cricket.
Just three days earlier, India Women had posted 370 for 5, their highest ODI total at the time. However, they surpassed their own record in emphatic fashion during this match.

Captain Smriti Mandhana stole the spotlight with a blistering knock, smashing the fastest ODI century by an Indian women’s batter. She reached her 100 in just 70 balls, breaking Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record of an 87-ball ton against South Africa in Bengaluru last year.
Mandhana’s innings of 135 off 80 balls was studded with 12 fours and seven sixes, boasting an impressive strike rate of 170.9. Her outstanding performance came in a dead-rubber match, with India already holding an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Opting to bat first, Smriti put on a masterclass, dismantling Ireland’s bowling attack with ease.
