NEW DELHI: The uncle of an Agra man, who allegedly killed his mother and her four daughters in a Lucknow hotel, recounted the scary phone call that he received from the accused and demanded the death penalty.
The police found the bodies of mother Asma and sisters Alia (9), Aksa (16), Rahmeen (18) and Alshia (19) in Sambhal on early Friday.
After killing them, accused Mohammad Arshad shot a video in which he confessed to slitting the wrists and throats of his sisters and mother. In the 6.5-minute selfie video, Arshad further claimed his father was also involved in the killings.
Mohammad Zeeshan, Asma’s brother, recounted: “I received a phone call from Lucknow that day. I spoke with Arshad. He said, ‘Uncle I have killed the whole family,’ after which the police took away the phone.”
“My last conversation with my sister was approximately four months ago. She was a straightforward and caring person. I want the severest punishment for Arshad – he should face execution,” he stated.
He additionally requested the immediate arrest of Arshad’s father.
Following his arrest after the killings, Arshad was placed in judicial custody on Thursday.
The family resided in Agra, and initial investigations indicate that domestic disagreements led to this incident.
In his recorded statement, Arshad stated that he committed these acts due to mistreatment and persecution by local residents.
