Home minister exhorts newly inducted SIs to strive for a crime free Andhra Pradesh

TIRUPATI: State home minister Vangalapudi Anitha called upon the newly inducted sub inspectors into the police force to strive for a crime free Andhra Pradesh.
The Home minister took part in the passing out parade of 394 SIs at Anantapur district headquarters on Saturday. Among the 394 SIs who joined the police force, 97 are women SIs, who underwent training on various nuances of policing, cyber crimes, narcotics crimes etc.
Addressing the newly inducted SIs, the Home minister asserted that chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has passed clear instructions to the police department to every case booked should be disposed off in a time bound manner to instill confidence among the people.
Expressing concerns over the spike in crimes on women and children across the country in the recent times, she urged the new SIs to accord top priority for women safety and deal with crimes on women and children with an iron hand.
The Home minister also stated that the state govt has zero tolerance when it comes to dealing with the rampant use of ganja and asked the police force to step up their efforts to dream for a ganja free Andhra Pradesh.
State DGP Harish Kumar Gupta and other senior police department officials took part.
