'Drew out intestines and flung it in air, sliced organs': Ashamed of mother’s affair, sons kill her partner in Gujarat

AHMEDABAD: Two brothers from Mokhasan village in Gandhinagar allegedly stabbed a man to death, flinging his intestines into the air in front of shocked onlookers. Police said that the siblings’ deep resentment towards the man, who had been in a long-standing relationship with their mother, led them to commit the murder.
According to an FIR filed with Kalol taluka police, Sanjay Thakor, 27, and Jayesh Thakor, 23, harboured rancour towards Ratanji Thakor, a 45-year-old mason, who had been having an affair with their mother for over 15 years. According to police, the brothers believed the affair dishonoured their late father’s memory and brought shame to their family.
The victim’s son, Ajay, in his FIR with the police alleged that the two brothers had repeatedly warned Ratanji to stay away from their mother. “They have brawled with the victim a couple of times, too. The brothers even involved community elders in the matter, but their efforts to resolve the issue peacefully failed,” said investigating officer Unnati Patel of Kalol taluka police.
Accused were tracked using mobile phone locations
Consumed by anger, they, allegedly, decided to take matters into their own hands.
“On Sunday, when Ratanji and his associate, Jikuji Parmar, were busy with the construction of a house in the village, Sanjay and Jayesh — armed with a knife and a rod — rushed to him. Jayesh struck him on the head with the rod, and as he fell, Sanjay stabbed him repeatedly. He drew out Ratanji’s intestines and flung it in the air. He sliced the latter’s internal organs as Ratanji collapsed in a pool of blood,” stated the FIR.
Some labourers and Ratanji’s friend tried to rescue him, but the two brothers brandished the knife and rod soaked in blood to keep the villagers away before fleeing on their motorcycle, the FIR further stated.
Inspector Patel said they tracked the accused using their mobile phone locations and arrested them later that day. Both have been booked under charges of murder and abetment.
