GRAP 3 curbs back in Delhi-NCR as AQI continues to remain in severe category

NEW DELHI: The sub-committee on the Graded Response Action Plan on Thursday invoked all measures under stage III of the revised GRAP schedule in Delhi-NCR, effective immediately. This decision comes as the region’s air quality index (AQI) continues to remain in the severe category.
In addition to the Stage-I and Stage-II actions already in force, stage-III measures aim to curb further deterioration of air quality.

For students in classes up to grade V, a hybrid learning model becomes mandatory under Stage 3, with families having the flexibility to opt for virtual learning where such facilities exist.
Stage 3 imposes restrictions on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi and adjoining NCR regions.
Additionally, nonessential diesel-powered medium goods vehicles meeting BS-IV or earlier emission standards are prohibited from operating in Delhi under these regulations.
