This also marks the eleventh day of the month when the maximum temperature is above normal. At 25.9 degrees Celsius, Pitampura was the warmest area of the region.
A western disturbance is expected to impact the region, leading to a change in wind direction to south-easterly from Wednesday onwards, and the minimum temperature is likely to rise to 7-9 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of very light rain on Feb 1.
According to forecast for Wednesday, the predominant surface wind is likely to be from the southeast direction with a wind speed of less than 4 kmph during morning hours. Smog or shallow fog is expected in most places during early morning hours.
“The wind speed will gradually increase thereafter, becoming 8-10 kmph from the southeast direction during the afternoon. It will decrease later, becoming less than 4 kmph from the southeast direction. Smog/mist is expected later in the evening, with a partly cloudy sky,” stated a forecast released by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM).
