Kansas City Chiefs 35-year-old tight end Travis Kelce has been selected for his 10th consecutive Pro Bowl. He still leads the Chiefs in receiving yards and is a Pro Bowler despite a sluggish start to 2024. He set the Chiefs’ franchise record for touchdown catches and continues to cement his Hall of Fame-worthy resumé, despite not scoring his first touchdown until October 27. Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy believes Kelce’s focus on winning over accumulating statistics sets him apart from other players.
“The beautiful part about Trav is he does not care about it,” Nagy told the media on Thursday. “He wants to continue to just keep winning. He cares about these trophies, he cares about winning, extremely unselfish, how he takes care of his body in practice throughout the week. It’s special. You’re not going to see many tight ends like him. What he does is rare. I’d say he’s having a hell of a season right now.”
Kelce, drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2013 NFL draft, has been a major player in the team’s success. The Chiefs have made the playoffs in all but one season, winning three Super Bowls and making the Super Bowl in four of the last five seasons.
Kelce is not only a key player for the team. He is the all-time leader in postseason receptions, yards, and touchdowns, tied with Jerry Rice for the most postseason games with 100 receiving yards and at least one touchdown reception. With the Chiefs starting the season 15-1 and looking to pull off the first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history, Kelce pursuit of winning won’t slow down anytime soon.

Nagy, a former college football quarterback who played at the University of Delaware from 1997 through 2000, failed his contract with the National Football League but went on to play for the Arena Football League and was assigned to multiple teams. In retirement, he worked as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Eagles since 2009 for five years.
In 2013, he was promoted to quarterbacks coach under head coach Andy Reid, and in 2016, he was promoted to offensive coordinator. Nagy was appointed as the Bears’ head coach in 2018, and the team went on to win their first NFC North division title and playoff appearance since 2010. He was part of the Chiefs’ coaching staff that won Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII.
