Elon Musk, the businessman and CEO of SpaceX, found himself at the centre of a fascinating discovery on X that left him surprised. A recently resurfaced excerpt from a 1953 German manuscript has sparked a debate, connecting Musk’s name to an uncanny prediction about Mars.
The X account @SpaceSudoer shared a screenshot that included the text from the book The Mars Project by renowned rocket scientist Wernher von Braun. The text claims that the leader of Mars would be called “Elon.” The original German manuscript was pulled from archives and confirmed to contain this peculiar reference.
“Maybe,” the X user captioned the post. The tech mogul’s response was one of disbelief, “How can this be real?”
A ‘prophetic’ connection?
Musk’s reaction sparked a flurry of responses from fans and followers. “The simulation reveals itself in hilarious ways,” one user said.
Another wrote, “Maybe you’re like a time traveller or something.” Musk, never one to shy away from playful banter, responded, “No matter how often I tell people that I’m a 5000-year-old alien time traveller, they don’t believe me.”
The resurfaced text has fueled Musk’s ongoing narrative as a man seemingly destined for Mars. As the head of SpaceX, Musk has long been vocal about his mission to colonise the Red Planet, even going so far as to say that humanity must become a multi-planetary species.
Social media users were quick to connect the dots between von Braun’s “leader of Mars” prediction and Musk’s ambitions.
“The prophecy is being fulfilled! Let’s post on X from Mars,” one user commented.
Another joked, “Because Elon is from the future!”
“Elon, stop toying with us—we know how this is real. You planted this easter egg long ago (or well into the future, whichever way we wanna look at it),” one fan wrote.
